Surgery centres today have taken what was once imagined and made it real. Surgical robots, laparoscopic simulators and 3D telecast equipment are just some of the state-of-the-art equipment in their arsenal. Knowledge transfer has become a cinch with these pro-AV and Info-Comm technologies. High-resolution fibre optic cameras with 3D capabilities can be inserted into a surgical site via incisions. Every critical decision and every finessed move by the attending surgeon is captured. The images are then sent via HD-SDI signals and shown on display screens in broadcast quality. Also, by means of 3D projection theatres, operating rooms have become training ground for aspiring surgeons to hone their skills.
