InfoComm MEA | Project Story: Lightware Visual Engineering’s Digital Matrix with HD-BaseT Capabilities

news LIGHTWARE VISUAL ENGINEERING CREATES CENTRALIZED CONTROL TO STREAMLINE DAY-TO-DAY RETAIL OPERATIONS

When luxury brand Mercedes-Benz opened a new retail and dining concept along Queen's Road, Hong Kong, it wanted to create a truly bespoke experience. Based on the same destination lifestyle concepts in Germany, the 480 square-meter space is a place to enjoy gourmet food, wines and cocktails while appreciating cars, motor racing, design, art and fashion. Patrons are greeted by a touchscreen welcome table highlighting the services, together with a panel to configure a customized car.

Named "Mercedes me", the 480-square-meter space also featured projectors and display screens, among other solutions.

At the heart of its video distribution system is Lightware Visual Engineering's MX-FR17 digital matrix with HD-BaseT capabilities. All video sources such as Now TV and Apple TV are controlled using the matrix over the HDMI and Cat-7 network. In addition, the matrix also feeds the "me" of "Mercedes me" image into a curved LED wall at the entrance. Armed with the AMX NX-3200 control system, the duty manager can enjoy easy access to all of the AV solutions.
