news SHURE MEA STREAMLINES SHOW OPERATIONS WITH DIGITAL WIRELESS SYSTEMS

The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi has three indoor venues – 700-seater Main Hall; 99-400-flexible seat Black Box Theater; 150-seat Recital Hall – and more than 1,000 seats for the outdoor stage. Every location is connected via a Dante network. This setup requires a high count of wireless channels in a compact framework. The radiofrequency spectrum in the campus is also congested as many different devices are in use.

The center tapped the ULX-D, a digital wireless system for installed applications, and organized its systems in different independent mobile racks and equipped each rack with an AXT 600 spectrum manager and an AXT 900 networked charging dock.

When the racks are moved to a location, the show personnel only have to connect an Ethernet cable and the power to be ready for the soundcheck. Thanks to the accurate frequency coordination and monitoring performed by the AXT 600 spectrum manager, controlled via Wireless Workbench 6, it did not experience any problem with interference or dropout during the shows.
